Rainer Thaler
Managing Director, Germany
Rainer was appointed Managing Director of GE Capital Real Estate's Germany division in 2006. He is responsible for our activities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Prior to this appointment, he was CEO of the newly founded Investment Management platform of Sireo, which he built up to a business with € 1.5 Bn assets under management. Before this he was member of the Management Committee of Sireo Real Estate Asset Management, a joint venture between Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Telekom and Head of Sales and Placements, leading and closing transactions worth € 3 Bn. Past positions also include Head of Asset Management of DeTeImmobilien (€ 16 Bn) and the corporate M&A group in the headquaters of Deutsche Telekom AG, where he primarily worked on M&A deals in Asia, Russia and Japan.
Rainer holds degrees in Law from Bonn and Berlin University.

Cristina Baeppler
Head of Risk & Asset Management
Cristina joined GE Capital Real Estate in 2002 as a Senior Underwriter and was promoted to lead the Risk Team in 2006. Her team work together with originations on new acquisitions, underwriting and due diligence, overseeing portfolio performance and market environment. Beginning 2010, in addition to being the Country Risk Leader, she has also taken over the responsibility for Asset and Portfolio Management leading a team of Asset Managers with €2,9 Bn AuM. Prior to joining GE, Cristina was associate partner at Cushman & Wakefield, where she gained extensive experience in Valuation/Professional Services and Corporate Services Departments, advising large corporates on their real estate portfolios and focusing primarily on property valuation and transaction advisory work.
Cristina holds a degree in Business administration as well as a post graduate degree in Real Estate Economics from the European Business School and is a Chartered Surveyor. She speaks English, German and Spanish fluently.

Michael Gillmann
Head of Asset Management Debt
Michael joined GE Capital Real Estate in December 2006 as Legal Manager. In March 2010 Michael was promoted to Head of Asset Management Debt. Prior to joining GE Capital Real Estate, Michael worked as a lawyer at the law firm P+P Pöllath + Partner for 6 years, providing legal advice to national and international investors in M&A and Real Estate transactions.
Michael holds a degree in Law from the University of Mainz.

Wolfgang Bernadzik
Director Investor Relations & Business Development
Wolfgang joined GE Capital Real Estate in October 2006 as Director responsible for originating commercial properties. Additionally, Wolfgang is taking care of our relationships with insitutional investors in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland both in terms of fund raising activities and general client interaction. Before joining GE he worked with Sireo Real Estate for 3 years, advising international investors on property transactions. Prior to that he had been with Mercer Management Consulting for 6 years, supporting corporates, insurance and property companies on real estate matters.
In 1997, Wolfgang graduated from the European Business School, Germany as a "Diplom-Kaufmann" with a major in real estate economics and finance.

Norbert Kandziora
Head of Leasing & Sales
Norbert Kanziora joined GE Capital Real Estate in May 2006, taking charge of business development activities relating to commercial properties. He was appointed Head of Sales/Development in March 2007 and established the Asset Management Division as from December 2007 while he was simultaneoulsy responsible for all selling and letting activities. Since March 2010, he has been in charge of distribution-related challenges as Head of Leasing and Sales.
Before joining GE Capital Real Estate, he headed the IVG branch office in Budapest, Hungary, as a Management Board Member and Managing Director.
Mr. Kandziora holds a an engineering degree (architecture) from the Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften in Munich.
